A day after St George and a day before St Mark, although nobody thought to tell the fly named after the latter. More commonly known as the Hawthorn Fly or Bibio Marci they were out in abundance today and the wild brown trout were not going to pass up the easy meal of them plopped (a technical term when fishing terrestials) under the trees.
